P3D hollywood silver
>How many theatrical silver screens now remain is unknown. (Anyone?)
Several years ago, I spoke to a movie theater exec who told me that one
screen in every multi-screen complex is silver, to accomodate 3-D
projection which periodically surfaces (no pun intended). At the time, I
did a superficial check of cineplexes here in Knoxville, and found this to
be true. Occasionally, older cineplexes are demolished, and this is a
great opportunity to obtain a *very* large silver screen (usually with
perforations for high-frequency sound transmission). When I last saw
a three-screen complex being demolished, I approached the contractor and
was, indeed, offered the silver screen for the taking. I didn't act fast
enough, though, and soon found the screen - in shreds - in the dumpster.
