You can use a standard "modern" tapered cable release in you Realist, as
well as the older straight thread type. (Try it and see). Another useful
gadget if you want to "get in the picture" is an old mechanical timer
device that screws into the cable release hole and has a spring
activated delay. One of these just sold on ebay (item #2712853, if the
photo is still there you can see what I mean). They aren't too hard to
find.
