Correct.  But I think the straight fits better and more secured.
I used a tapered for many years and now that I found a straight
it has become my favorite (try it and see).  The funny thing is that
the straight works very well in my tapered Minolta too!

Correct again.  If you are looking at the right places. I have sold a few
of those in sell-3d for $10 to $15 and always had many people disappointed
that did not get it.  And yes, it is a great accessory to have!  I believe
Porter's still sells them new.
