Andrew, you're exactly correct! This was the footage from those
expeditions using the Russian Mir submersibles also during which that IMAX
film was indeed filmed. I guess you've done your homework. As for this
footage being readily available, that was a question that was asked...
the response was, not yet... The same team has filmed many sunken ships
and is doing more next spring in the Pacific (WWII ships). The footage
was really amazing, including that of the thermal vents and undersea
cooled lava!
This was definitely a winner of a meeting with that footage, a great
competition, in which Keith Moorehead was one of the judges, and a slide
mounting workshop!! I finally mounted my first few slides that I had
processed just today. What a thrill!
The meeting went until about 10:30!
I believe there were 5 P3D members there from what I could tell, but I
only know a couple of them. Brenda Nowlan, Emil Volcheck, myself, John
Roberts, and a new P3D member, John Swank (sp?). Not too shabby!
