Ah, the fault is not in our stars, dear Brutus (Bobus?), but ourselves.
I agree with your thoughts re: meters (I think it is important to note
that spot meters also necessitate being a "thinking person"), but I'm
afraid it is not the meters which are dumb, but the users...
