P3D PRIMARY lens improvement :-)

The following is strictly anecdotal, but interesting to anyone who is a stereo sharpness fanatic like moi:

My eyes were bugging me a few months ago. I haven't had my eyes examined in 2 years so I went back for an exam. During all the exam ("Which is better, #1 or #2?"), the optometrist commented "very good...excellent!" I asked why he was saying that, as my eyes were hurting. He said that while my prescription for nearsightedness needed bumping up (hence, the strain), my CORRECTED vision had improved from 20/20 to 15/20 (or is it 20/15?). He said it was rare for accuity to improve w/ age (I just turned 40). I told him that I take a number of health supplements, many which are said to improve vision. (I'm a human lab rat for natural supplement experimentation - for all my real and imagined ailments :-) ). He seemed interested and was familiar with some of the supplements I mentioned. My experience was fully cooberated by some friends and associates who have tried this stuff and/or heard testimonies in health food stores. FWIW, *some* of the stuff is:

Fatty acids: EHA, GLA, Omega 3. etc. Supposedly, modern diets are short of this stuff (ie, people substitute margarine for butter, etc.). They are said to help build brain, nerve and optic tissue.

Bilberry: Antioxident/circulation - Bilberry jam was said to have been used by RAF WWII bombers before missions to improve night-vision.

Vit. A, selenium, glutathione, taurine, biovlavinoids, etc: all with some documented usefulness for vision.

Oh well, take it or leave it. Since our eyes are our most important piece of hardware for enjoying this stuff, it may be a consideration for those who notice a decline in accuity (but I guess they won't help the progression of my nearsightness). Since squinting into stereo camera viewer holes (and pressing my face into viewers) is getting pretty tiresome for this glasses wearer, I'll be looking into contacts next year (I'm a little wary of RK at this time).
