P3D Point-and-shoot camera recommendations

I'm sorry to intrude on this list with a potentially non-3d topic, but
I've decided I should get a good point-and-shoot camera for the
occassional 2D pic (and as a possible twinning candidate).  Can anyone
send me (privately, off-list, to pd@xxxxxxxxxxxxx) recommendations for
a good zoom p&s?  I know the Yashica T4 Super is highly acclaimed, but
I think the zoom would really help in composition under
point-and-shoot conditions.

Again, my apologies if this is not sufficiently 3D-related.  I don't
know of a more helpful, knowledgable group of photographers than this
list.
