I, for one, became interested in 3D after studying the psychological and
physiological aspects of Stereograms. Why, I have become a champion
free-viewer, both parallel and cross-eyed as a result. As a matter of
fact, I have developed Excedrin Headache #3D. I couldn't argue one way
or the other as to the effect, in general, on the popularity of 3D as a
result of SIRDS- just my own experience. As an aside, just fer kicks,
check out my 3D glasses for stereograms. I'll give Photo-3D participants
a hefty discount for some feedback! They have some interesting features
that differentiate them from traditional stereo pair viewers which might
interest the group- Right, Larry? Vis a Vis Magic Eye, I don't think
we can blame them for the demise of stereograms, nor the saturation of
the market. I took an informal poll at the last Feb's NSA regional
meeting in Palo Alto and found that 50% of the audience had not been
able to see SIRDS! So there is definitely a market out there.

On another issue, my wife gave me the most striking set of stereo pairs
of underwater scenes. A real 'sleeper' of a book- sure the gang knows
it, but I hadn't seen it . It's stunning! "Beneath the Sea' by Mark
Blum- Chronicle Books, San Francisco-
