P3D Value of LCS glasses

Sam Smith relates that he can't get his 3-D Spex to
work, and asks:

>Will the glasses work on other systems, or would I be better

What computer system are you using? My 3-D Spex worked fine on
a Pentium with a Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 video board. The 3-D
Spex are a parallel port synchronizing pair of glasses, the
software that came with 3-D Spex were all DOS based rather than
Windows 95. The LC glasses will plug into other driver-adapters
such as the VR-97 from APEC. In my opinion the glasses are valuable
for use with other systems if you can't interface your machine
with the 3-D Spex adapter. They will be a good second pair of
glasses for other LCS systems that use the stereo mini plug (not
IR transmitter types, such as VR Surfer).
