Or any photography which attempts to do more than "record" a scene.
Through the efforts of Jon Golden and the SNE group, I am also lucky
enough to see some of David's extraordinary cave work; it is mesmorizing
and a great example of fine photography and fine stereo. If you ever
have the chance to see it, take it!
The only thing I'd add to Dave's comments are to remember that ice/snow
are tricky to place on reversal film in terms of exposure. The natural
inclination is to put them all the way to the top (3-4 stops above
middle grey) but this often leads to a lack of texture and thus lack of
interest. My experience is to try to side or back light the scene, and
place the highlight at the top, letting the white ice/snow fall 1-2
stops below.
Clear ice such as icicles is an entirely different story, as it's
exposure value is about 1/2-1 stop below that of the scene which is
behind it!
