Darren,
I too bought a near mint (at least I thought so) TDC Vivid at a camera
show about a year ago. The camera is beautiful, and I love to look at
it, but all the shutter speeds are almost identical. By this I mean that
no matter where you set the shutter speed, it seems to be about
1/100 sec. Perhaps not a problem on a sunny day with 100 ASA
film, but it kind of limits the functionality of the camera! :-)
I've heard the camera is difficult and expensive to have repaired, so
I'll use my other cameras to take pictures and keep the Vivid just
to look at. :-)
The film transport is wierd because the lens spacing is closer than
most other stereo cameras and they had to add a roller to still allow
for the standard image spacing on the film.
Regards,
Marc
