I was actually able to pick up ANOTHER
Ilex Paragon Realist at a photo swap meet today in the Los Angeles area
(you don't want to know what I paid), so now there is more of a basis
for serial number comparison.  This unit does not have the DOF scale or
the double exposure prevention feature but its serial number is also
over 10,000, it's A10590.  So both examples have A prefixis, both are
over 10,000 and both have the numbers on their bottoms.  

Perhaps there were more Ilex units than we think?  20,000 or so.  What
do you think?
