I profess total ignorance when we get this deep in to the technicals,
so grant me a dumb question if you will: if the leaf shutter records
part of the exposure at a smaller aperture and thereby adds depth of
field, would it not also reduce the effective f/stop? Such that either
the shot will be underexposed or the camera f/stop markings must have
been adjusted to account for the difference? If the markings are
already adjusted, shouldn't we be back to theoretically having roughly
the same DOF? Forgive me if I'm totally out in left field, as I
probably am.
All I know is my Realist DOF scale works fine, but I find the Revere
DOF scale virtually useless, and I found in the archives that the
problem was reported by at least one other user long ago.
