P3D 3D Book

P3D folks can give, especially as to how to produce a book with
built-in-viewer (along the lines of Mark Blum's 'Beneath the Sea
     in 3D').
I have also considered a 'freeview' format (as in Tom Johnstone's
'Magic 3D'), anaglyph, lorgnette viewer ('Stereo Realist
Handbook').... and I don't have any examples of clever fold-out
mirror arrangements, but that might suit.

I think George's idea about including View-Master reels is an excellent
one. It's a familiar format to everyone, the viewers are readily available,
and at least before the latest corporate upheaval, they were relatively
cheap to custom produce in volume.

Other than that, I think printing side-by-side pairs and including a
lorgnette viewer is probably your best bet. That way you retain good color
(which you wouldn't with anaglyph). It also has the advantage of being
accessible both to those who freeview and those who don't, but would use
the glasses instead. Since freeviewing is an acquired skill, and one
acquired only by real 3D fanatics, I think it would be a big mistake to
publish in this format without also providing the lorgnette viewers. The
main disadvantage is that your pictures have to be relatively small to be
viewable.
