Robert Thorpe has a MF viewer gallery
web page at:
http://www.skep.com/3d/gallery.htm

which show MF stereo viewers many of
us have made. But it seems to be having
some trouble right now and the images
are not showing up.

If it was working you would also
be able to see the King Inn viewer
there.

(I'm CC'ing this message to Robert
so maybe it is something he can fix.)

I have a picture of my viewer on
my web page at:
http://www.angelfire.com/ca/erker

Steve Spicer has built a very nice
viewer and you can see and read a
very complete description of it at:
http://werple.net.au/~kiewavly/stereo.html

---
Regarding $600 loupes: yes they would
work very nice, but many of us are
getting by using some nice achromats
from American Science & Surplus. They
are 40 mm dia by 84 mm FL and cost
$15.50 US each. They have some pincushion
distortion but are otherwise good in
terms of sharpness and contrast.

---
If building isn't your cup of tea
you have three choices:

1) The Sputnik viewer. A print/slide
viewer that is sold with some of the
Sputnik cameras. Has single element
glass lenses. Don't know what it
costs.

2) The King Inn viewer. See Robert's
web page for info.

3) Alan Lewis's MF viewer kit, sold
by Rocky Mountain Memories. Go to:
http://www.frii.com/~rkymtmem/viewers/satslide.html

It uses the 40x84 mm achromats,
costs $125, and is available "soon".
Maybe Joel can tell us how soon.

---
There is a semi-standard MF mount
(80x132 mm outside dimensions) based
on the King Inn ones. The ones I use
are from RMM at:
http://www.frii.com/~rkymtmem/mounts/spicer.mf.html

Joel sells three types: 50x50 mm
window openings and 40x50 mm portrait
and landscape openings. They cost
$18 per 100.

Any more questions about MF stereo,
just ask. I love to talk about it. :)
