John R and others have been kind enough to give some very educational
comments regarding my interest in patents.
Seeing as how all this started with the italian fellow's semi-holographic
camera, surely he cannot have demonstrated that this thing works! From
what little I know about holography, I also believe that it would be nearly
impossible for the equipment shown in the diagrams to present multiple
in-phase (if not coherent) wavefronts to the emulsion.
So he got a patent without, I think, being able to "show that it works."
