Yes, I mentioned it last year, when IMAX announcedit. As you say, IMAX
(R) SR format is for smaller
venues (275-350 seats, which will also use the less
expensive passive polarized glasses). Rumor has it that
the SR prints will have both left and right images on
a single frame instead of a left and right print. Also
each pair of frames would be anamorphically squeezed
into adjacent 7.5 perf images, projectable by the
standard IMAX 2D projector with special optics.

We shall see, since IMAX really hasn't said too much
about it yet.
