P3D Assorted

     Hi all,

There was a lot of discussion lately about which viewer
to be used, what the best viewer is, who has done DIY
projects. Quite interesting. I stumbled across a couple
of (screw)lenses from old Praktika cameras. They are
Pancolars (aus JENA) 1.8/50, multicoated, four or five
elements (I believe). Don't know in how many groups.
The length of the lens from front (where you can screw
in filters) to the back element is 48 mm.

Is it possible to use these for a self-to-be-build viewer ?
Or can I use parts (=elements) of them ?
Before I take the chainsaw I'd like to know if I
overlooked something more or less important.
Or is this just a stupid idea ?

I know that the viewer lenses should (ideally) have the
same focal length as the camera you use to make the
pictures with, but I've seen many offending against this
     rule from Photo-3D 8<).

My camera's are a Realist 3.5 (thank you Linda), a FED BOY
(thanks to Harry zur Kleinsmiede) and a Kodak Stereo
(still to be delivered by Harry Poster). Thanks Harry.
And there is a Revere 33 (YES it's going to happen after
all these years !) and a Wray soon to come (I hope).

George, I planned to buy a copy of the original
Realist Instruction Manual from you but I now may call
myself the really proud owner of a Morgan & Lester Realist
Manual, thanks to Klaas Morcus (many thanks again Klaas).
It's a great book to have, and a joy to read and freeview !

I'm looking for information about what filters, sunshades
and other accessoiries can be used on the Realist 3.5
     with David White anastigmats.
I've searched the SELL-3D's on my harddisk and found the
following, amazing and confusing, information :

     - Realist Series V adapter
     - Realist Filter Holder Adapter
     - Sunshade & Filter Holder
     - Realist Shades/Filter Holder
     - Realist haze/shades Dr. T. special
     - Realist Flash filters
     - Kodak Polarizing filters for the Realist
     - Realist Series V filters in custom board . . .
     - Lentar set, Series V, funnel shaped, metal caps . . .
     - Lentar set, Series V, barrel shaped, metal caps . . .
     - Kalcor set, Series V, cases, caps . . .
     - Realist Filter wallet

And much more if you want.

Can somebody please explain where we're talking about
here ? What is this Series V adapter ? I've never met
one over here. Funnel, barrel, special, holder, adapter
Lentar, Kalcor ? Are the abovementioned all variations
on a theme or what ?

Thanks very much as usual and kudo's to Bob Wier who
especially had a lot to do after the MIME effect !
