I appreciate Lawrence's concern for my rapidly diminishing rug. The truth,
which is hopefully still "out there" (although sometimes I wonder), is that
ALL feature films (as in EVERY SINGLE ONE WITHOUT EXCEPTION) released in
the early '50s 3D cycle were originally produced and released ONLY in the
polaroid 2-strip format. Decades later, in the '70s and early '80s, a small
handful of the black and white films, including those mentioned above, were
converted to anaglyph prints and received very limited distribution. They
were NOT originally produced or shown anaglyph. Considering the extremely
limited number of films that were ever released in anaglyph format (and
most of them flat films with only brief 3D sequences), it continues to
flabbergast me how many people who should know better "remember" all 3D
movies being anaglyph!
