P3D DrT redifines "Contemporary"

After my blasting of the official PSA definition of "contemporary", I know
what you are thinking... "OK DrT, if you are so smart, why don't you give
us your definition"

I took the challenge and here is what I came up with:

First, I don't like the label "contemporary". In my pocket dictionary this
is defined as "current, modern". Does that mean that an image from 50
years ago cannot be called "contemporary"? Why not use a word that
reflects content, rather than age?

How about "abstract"? Again from my dictionary: "Using forms or designs
that have little connection with objective or observable reality."

PSA - CONTEMPORARY DRT - ABSTRACT
The concept An image
that stimulates the mind... with little connection to objective
to interpret the message or observable reality
through the creative use of resulting from the creative use of
line, form, and colors lines, forms, designs or colors

DrT - Images encouraged:

- Creative camera techniques (light painting, etc.)
- Creative tabletop techniques (black light, etc.)
- Unusual film bases (IR, etc.)
- Computer generated images
- Computer or "darkroom" manipulated images

DrT - Images discouraged:

- Aunt Bertha eating hot dogs by the beach

PS. I don't know about a "better place" but the world would have sure been
a more logical place, had it been designed by engineers! :-)
