The only time I've ever had a problem was in Las Vegas when I was using one of
these pouches....the inspector pulled the bag over and started asking me all
these questions about what was in it, I pulled the lead bag out to show him etc.
and at the end he just said the film will be fine - don't use the bag. Needless
to say, I started hand checking it or just sending it through once or twice with
lower-speed film.
