will corrupt the 3D content of field-sequential 3D video, BUT there
is specialised equipment available which will allow field-sequential
3D video to be converted between video standards without corrupting
the 3D content.<

I would guess that one could separate the two fields, convert each
individually, and then re-merge them in the new format. But I have a
feeling that the resolution loss would be substantial doing that. I was,
however, referring to regular commercial standards converters, as you
guessed.
