In truth, this will be the club's "first annual" event, so how well it
works is yet to be determined. I suspect it'll take a few years worth
of shows (and the related feedback) to adjust the presentations in a
direction that the crowds will optimally respond to. We want to rival
the AAA in terms of membership count. :-)
I just snuck-in that advertisement for the 3D presentation at the end of
the month at OMSI. It's called "3D-scope" (having formerly worked for
the world's leading scope company the name strikes me "odd", I expect to
see a new product from that company.... :-).
If you're in the neighborhood, drop on by. It's just off of I-5 in
Portland, and I think there are "OMSI" signs on the freeway saying where
to get off. It's just north of the Marquam bridge.
Mike K.
P.S. - Part of the presentation will include slide shows, both full-frame
multi-projector and Realist Brackett-disolver shows. It'll also
have computer 3D demos with help from NuVision, as well as historical
displays of equipment from the 50's and earlier. Etc. Come one come
all. I'll be making more detailed postings in newsgroup pdx.general
within the next week.
P.P.S. - That's the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI). It has
an IMAX as well, but not a 3D one. :-(
P.P.P.S. - Sorry about that last long posting. I hurriedly edited it before
leaving work for home last night and my edits made things worse.
Re-reading it later was embarrassing.
