As a hobbyist and amateur photographer, the Realist has worked well for
me, allowing me to capture precious personal memories.  If the situation
calls for quick and convenient recording of normal, everyday, scenes or
events, I'll take my Realist.  For macros, fast action, distant objects to
be photographed with longer lenses, hyperstereos, etc., I'll use my SLR(s). 
For convenience and viewing pleasure, I mount all stereo pairs in standard
stereo mounts and use my Realist red button viewer.
