And I would like to add, cheering even louder, that if your stereo slides
are mounted in 2x2 pairs, you can probably purchase upwards of 70 decent
quality Pinsharp 2x2 viewers for the money that would otherwise go into a
couple of projectors. The advantages would be numerous:
Each person could view a slide for as long as they wanted (or until their
neighbors take it away).
The stereo view obtained is brighter (assuming a bright room).
There is no problem with image ghosting ("crosstalk'). This is a problem
with projecting high contrast images. Also, crosstalk is not affected by
the tilt of your head.
The views are large and orthoscopic (or at least undistorted) for each
member of the audience.
The views are of higher resolution and better color saturation.
If you are presenting your work to the public, a large number of viewers in
a gallery setting can function unattended all day long, providing all of
these advantages without interruption. With projection, you need a
schedule and a projectionist, and can only supply an inferior viewing
experience.
Of course, the drawback is that you (as the creator or the audience) cannot
comment on each slide being viewed simultaneously.
