P3D Stereogram 2.7: Seven Sprockets and Beyond
- From: fj834@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Dr. George A. Themelis)
- Subject: P3D Stereogram 2.7: Seven Sprockets and Beyond
- Date: Mon, 23 Feb 1998 08:59:07 -0500 (EST)
The March issue of the "Stereogram", newsletter of the O-hi-O Stereo
Photographic Society, is out for copying and will be mailed tomorrow to
members and subscribers. In addition to the usual club news, interview
with VP Jim Motley, competition results and standings, and one page of
illustrated classified ads, this issue features a special 4-page section on
"7 Sprockets and Beyond".
In this section, noted stereo authority DrT, attempts to explain the
choices for wider than Realist (5p) stereo slides, mounted in standard 101
mm x 41 mm mounts, and shine some light to the following concepts:
- Realist format (5p)
- European format (7p)
- Other formats: full-frame (8p), half-size (4p)
- Classic 7p cameras
- Mounting Wide (7p or more)
- Viewing Wide
- Projecting Wide
Also, this section features articles by stereo surgeon John Slivon on
"Modifying the Realist for 7P" and DrT on "7p-Realist - A User's
Perspective", plus photographs of DrT's 7p-Realist and sections of film
strip taken with it.
As with last time, we are making a few dozen extra copies to distribute to
those who would like to see a sample (and have never received one before).
BTW, last month we distributed 35 extra copies to photo-3d members which
resulted in the following memberships/subscriptions: T. Mills, W. Wolf, P.
Glentenkamp, and donations by: M. D' Abrosca, B. Richmond, E. Raidin, M.
Robbins, G. Schacker and R. Gerrie. These generous contributions helped
cover the extra production and distribution costs. A big "thank you" to
all photo-3d members who have supported our organization!
-- George Themelis, OSPS President and Newsletter Editor
PS. Anyone who contributed money over the estimated cost of the 2.6 issue,
will also receive the 2.7 issue as a small "thank you" for their support.
