Those who work in the standard stereo format are using mostly
viewers that were designed (in the 50s) to take a screw type
miniature bulb and two D cells (or an AC bulb and rheostat).
You have to work out a way to install these fluorescent bulbs
in such viewers. Until you do that, I will be happy with my
frosted halogen bulb and, to be honest, I don't see a benefit
over fluorescent illumination.

Why wait for such a convertion when they they can knock their
socks off RIGHT NOW, by seeing their first stereo slide in
a properly tuned RB with a frosted halogen bulb?
