P3D 3D-SCOPE
The annual event of the Cascade Stereoscopic Club is over and it was a big
success with the close to 1,000 people who saw it. The event was held at
the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), this past weekend and it
had something for everyone.
There were 14 slides shows, some representing all members, some from
individuals and two from guests from the Puget Sound Stereo Camera Club in
Washington. Formats ranged from standard Realist to VM to full 2 x 2
synchronized to music. The auditorium was full at times and we had to turn
people away at one time.
The exhibits included a display of historical and contemporary equipment
from Jules Richard to RBT to Image Tech, literature, books and old ads for
stereo equipment. This section had information and demonstration tables
with drum viewers, and other stereoscopes.
The final section was the computer area with some dozen computer stations
featuring a great variety of 3-D programs, take away anaglyph portrait
prints made with digital cameras, and 3D video equipment.
We conducted surveys, talked to many interested individuals and gave away
two door prizes (3-Discover)
Some 25 of our members volunteered to spread the word and finally to
celebrate with a group dinner.
I would like to thank all members and guests who worked hard to make this
event a success, not only for this community but the general public as well.
Shab Levy
President
