P3D history of the View-Master

I need (want) to write a short article on the history of the View-Master,
and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Just a
page or two of basic facts would be nice; it'll mostly be a personal
appreciation and review of scenic foreign reels.

I've seen that there's a book about View-Master *viewers* (way too specific) -
but I was looking for information on the history of the View-Master as a whole
(the viewer, reels, etc).

I'm also wondering if there are any decent, Made In China (or wherever), modern
knock-offs of the view-master which have scenic reels.

Still Realist-less,

  - Xochi

P.S. Do I need a light meter as well if I get a Realist?
