To tell the truth, it's rare that there's anyone who would
vote against standardization so long as *their* way is that
being made standard.  :-)

P.S. - I think "format" is the "storage format".  You used the
       phrase "Realist 5 perf format" and "Tru-Vu Filmstrip format"
       and others along this line.  These are NOT examples of 
       viewing but are examples of "storage".  These examples
       may be generated by any of multiple methods which are very
       different and they can be viewed by many ways which can
       be very different (projecter vs viewer, for instance). The
       constant is the storage (and interperson transfer) format.
       Viewers for instance, can then be compatible with multiple
       formats -- say 5P, 7P, and 8P formats -- or not.  Likewise
       with generation implementations.  So, as long as my view is that
       to be made standard, I vote for standardization too!   :-)
