P3D Olympus S-20 and T-20 flash on a Realist?

- Subject: P3D Olympus S-20 and T-20 flash on a Realist?

I saw a couple of used Olympus flashes in a nearby photo shop, and was
struck by the fact that they have a very low profile. Basically, the flash
seemed to be oriented horizontally rather than vertically, which I liked.
They were Olympus flashes, but I couldn't see a model number. I've always
been bothered by the height of the Vivitar flash I use on the Realist ...
I'm afraid it's going to snap off.
Later, someone from the shop told me they were T-20's, and were going for
$89.95 each. B&H has the T-20 for $94.95 new, so I couldn't see spending
almost that much for a used one. The B&H catalog also listed an S-20 for
about $50, but I have no idea if the flash is at all similar, and there was
no picture. So, for anyone who knows these flashes, I have some questions:
1) Does the S-20 look like the T-20? Is it also horizontally oriented,
with a low profile and low center of gravity?
2) Are these flashes still being made?
3) Has anyone tried to cut a groove in the foot of one of these to fit over
the Realist "bump?" This is what I'd want to do.
Thanks,
