While waiting to find one of these (never seen one 
in the UK), I tried alternatives, finally settling on
a set of feeler gauges (used for setting spark plug 
gaps). 
I still haven't used a genuine VM inserter, so it may be 
even better, but the feeler gauge opens up a VM reel
pocket beautifully!
