 E-Mail submitted on this subject plus information about 
the NSA Convention '98 Richmond, August  6-10:

In the latest PHOTO-3d DIGEST, Ralph Johnson asks 
about the lowest cost to get quality slides from negatives.

Slides from Negatives by DALE LABORATORIES:

I have had good quality positive (transparency) unmounted
film strips,  which I cut and mounted myself, made from 
rolls of uncut  negatives by DALE Laboratories,
 2960 Simms Street, Hollywood, FL 33020-9846.

and  ask them to send you their current  price list and some
 mailer envelops.

I won first place in one competition from a slide made from 
a roll of negatives by Dale Labs. 

You DO NOT have to use their special film.  Any uncut roll 
of negative film (KODAK, FUJI, KONICA, whatever) will be 
spliced into a long roll and printed by their movie printer onto
 positive, transparency strips.

If your negatives are standard  8P 24 x 36mm, Dale can make:
      1) prints (ask for 4" x 6" prints so you can view them on an 
          over-and-under  viewer), and 
      2) mounted slides or unmounted film strips ( whichever 
          you order), and 
      3) can put them on a computer floppy disk with free software 
           so that you can input them into your computer, and
      4) can put them on a PHOTO CD Rom
      5) and can make slides from cut negative strips.

If your negatives are in any other format (half-frame, Realist, 
Burdlo, Nimslo, Nishika, Fed, etc.) Dale can process the negatives 
and from the uncut roll print a positive, transparaency unmounted
 filmstrip for you to cut and  mount as slides.  From non-standard 
negatives they  CAN NOT make prints, put them on disks, 
or on PHOTO CD Roms.  Ask for "unmounted film strip".

I have just confirmed that their prices are:
     1)  For mounted slides and 4 x 6 prints w/negatives = $17.95
           for a 36 exp roll or $13.95 for a  24 exp roll;
     2)  For mounted slides and standard 8P negatives = $9.50 for 
          a 36 exp roll, or $7.95 for a 24 exp roll; 
     3)  If you send in a processed uncut roll of negatives, the cost 
          of a positive, transparency "unmounted film strip"  for you
          to cut and mount as slides is $6.95 for a 36 exp roll and $5.50

          for a 24 exp roll. .
      4)  If your negatives have been cut into short strips, they can 
           make slides from 8P full, standard 24 x 36mm negatives
           for $1.50 per slide.

Their mailer has a form for you to have the order charged to MC 
or Visa .You must write in the request for a "unmounted film strip".

I am offering Dale Laboratories the opportunity to donate door

 take a table at the TRADE FAIR Saturday and Sunday, August 8 & 9,
