I am glad \__/ George is bring up the subject regarding 2x2x2
slides. Not enough is discussed about it on P3D and is one topic
I'd like to learn more about, like Peter Davis and I'm sure others
would. We hear alot about Realist mounts and such but scant little
about 2x2x2. Is there any standardization or whatever on viewers,
projection, etc....?
There are alot of advantages such as the film comes mounted in 2x2
mounts which saves on time and money. Another advantage is you
can readily get these scanned to photo CD, quite economically.
The quality is very good even from P&S cameras.
Another advantage not often mentioned is if the slides are treated
separately and not put in any sort of adaptor (like the Franka viewer
utilizes) then it is very easy for the independant 2x2 slides spacing
to match the interpupillary distance. This makes it easier to view
the slides and makes for better viewing (since the eyes are viewing
from the center of the lenses). I imagine an adaptor with some kind
of tracking could be made that would keep the 2x2 together but
would accomodate variable spacing between the mounts.
