Nobody says that there will be NO computer discussions in P3d. There will
be some discussions, overviews, summaries, etc., but no involved
discussions which might not be of interest to those who are not actively
involved in the field. I'd say, there will be about the amount of computer
talk that there is now (minus a few long technical threads).

P3d will focus on film stereo (which includes use of stereo cameras from
the 50s but also RBTs, twin SLRs, stereo projection, stereo prints, View
Master, Tru-Vue, stereo views, collectibles, 3D movies, basic photographic
techniques, etc., etc.) while D3d will focus on digital stereo (computers,
video, digital cameras, digital technology, 2D->3D conversions, computer
displays, etc.)

Of course, there are areas of overlap: For example, digitizing films
(scanners, etc.) And those with active interest in both topics, can join
both lists.

I see this separation as a positive move because there are people who are
only interested in digital technology that have (in the past) unsubscribed
from P3d or are still here grinding their teeth, so to speak, with all the
current emphasis on "40 year old technology". And there are those who have
joined but dropped out because of the emphasis in equipment or "technical
stuff" and not much photography.

Regarding Rev. Charlie Hotchkiss' heavily weighted speculation:

>Someday there will be no more functioning Realists, Kodaks or any other
>antique stereo cameras.

It will be a cold day in hell when there will be no more functioning
Realists! :-)
