P3D other depth cues

Hello P3D:

Some time ago, there was a thread revolving around the value of limited
depth of field in human vision, and how it might contribute to our
perception of depth.

The idea came up, because stereo photography is usually done with a maximum
depth of field, allowing the eyes to roam all over the slide, seeing
sharpness everywhere. The loss of focus related "rangefinding" or the
absence of a simulation of limited depth of field in human vision does not
seem to be much of a problem when viewing stereo slides - usually.

I added some new pictures to my 3D Showcase, demonstrating an unusual case,
where DOF information, and other depth cues (like motion parallax), may be
indispensable to the brain for an analysis of the spatial structure of this
scene.

look at starosta.com/3dshowcase/icues.html, and scroll down to the second
section. Stereo pairs and an anaglyph of the strange view are provided, as
well as a more in depth description of the situation.

Respectfully submitted,
