Mike, I have to disagree.

The merits of Velvia vs. Kodachrome is just as generic a photographic
topic as partitioning a harddrive is a generic computer topic.  There is
NOTHING intrinsically 3D-relevant about film emulsion.  The ONLY
difference I see is more people on the list use film to do their 3D and
therefore tolerate such a discussion.  The Fuji vs. Kodak debate
surfaces regularly on rec.photo.films+labs, too, which I need not point
out is a generic photographic newsgroup.

But the opinions expressed seem more in favor of banning generic
computing topics than banning generic photographic topics, even though
both are equally irrelevant to the P3D charter if strictly interpreted.
*That's* why folks are agitating for a D3D list.

(Personally, for me it's a wash.  I'd subscribe and maybe even post to
such a list, as I subscribe to all the other 3D lists, but as a somewhat
impartial observer I think the digital folks are getting a raw deal and
deserve a less intolerant list.)
