There's some truth in what you say, but digital cameras have been
talked about quite a lot (and they have no film).

Also those who create the whole image on the computer has come
up regularly relative to contests and their rules.

So the group may not be all that bad, even if not in the
front of their minds.

The time just isn't quite ripe yet  (cameras need a couple more
generations of development and cost reduction, but it's "close".).
