P3D Lost in (Stereo) Space

I took my daughter to see the futuristic movie "Lost in Space" today.  Was
pleasantly surprised to see a couple of stereo references.

At a news conference early in the movie, nearly every news camera seen is a
twin-lensed, apparently stereo camera.

Later, the father in the film is showing *his* father's military I.D. tags
to his son.  A close up reveals the last three characters in the I.D. are
*3-D*.

Coincidence? 

Maybe.  

I suspect a plot to subliminally present the idea of 3-D and stereoscopic
imaging to all the innocent, impressionable viewers of this movie.
