P3D Lost in Space Stereo

Another (potential) stereoscopic feature of the new "Lost in Space"
movie is the "Time Gate" effect, or something like that. The actors
are frozen in midair as the camera pans the scene. This was apparently
accomplished by having a row of many cameras (loaded w/ movie film)
take an instantaneous shot of the scene and playing them in sequence.
It has an errie, wax museum effect (like what some of my friends say
stereo slide portraiture has)
Any two sequential fames of this scene would be usable stereo
(are you listening, Viewmaster?).

The effect comes from one Dayton Taylor and was apparently used in
some Rolling Stones video. I've heard a few references to this effect,
but never saw it until now. You can bet, that like morphing, it'll be on
TV ads everywhere pretty soon.
