I went and called in my order for two of them too ($11, no sales tax here).

Ordered two partly because it was suprisingly cheap, but also
allows the possibility of a realist slide put "in the middle" with
one of the reflector thingies on either side.  Might fit.

My flatbed scanner is rated 600 x 1200 dpi optical.  So seems worth
an $11 try.  Not much to lose.  :-)
