When I see postings of horror stories of mismounting by "Kodalux",
"Qualex",
or whatever name is used for "Kodak bashing", my first question is
"Which
one of the Kodak Labs is being discussed". I know that some photo
stores
and other drop-off locations do not know which Kodak lab is used for
their
Kodak processing.
Since the Kodak Dallas Lab sent their stereo mounting equipment to their
New Jersey location, I have sort of lost track of whether the NJ
location
is now stereo mounting and,if so, what results have been encountered.
While I have my slide film developed locally and I mount my own slides,
we have some members of our OhiO Stereo Photographic Society who look
to us to recommend a place where they can get slides mounted. While I
don't want to recommend any place where it is almost certain that there
are going to be mucho problems, I also don't want to tell them to stop
taking stereo photos because all they will have is much grief in getting
the film developed and mounted.
I am very interested in both good and bad results, but the info has no
value unless the Lab involved is known.
Thanks for any info that can help our OSPS members enjoy Stereo.
Best Regards.......Jim Motley
