Travel century-and-a-half in time....or not! Inspired by legendary
stereo card photographers of the Nineteenth century, combined with the
new possibilities offered by AGFA Scala black and white film processes,
Jon brings to both your eyes and ears, in clear crisp 3D stereo
resolution, Black and White ...Then and Now.
Using current stereoscopic photographic technology, not as a gimmick,
but as an art form, Jon shot images that were chosen for their detailed
resemblance to the period of 1850-1950, In some cases, the viewer will
not be able to tell whether they are looking at an image from the
1890’s, the 1950’s, or the present!
Selected images were then combined with old stereo card images of the
19th century, each one purposefully sequenced, to interact with it’s
adjacent counterparts, dimensionally, thus pleasantly disarming the
viewer's perception.
Presented on a 3-D Dissolving Projection System, images flow smoothly
into each other, creating beautiful and sometimes bizarre interactions
with each other. Clear, crisp, black and white 3-D is of first priority
here, something of interest for everybody....animals, buildings you can
hang out of, stereo experiments, time-lapse animation and light
drawing. Narration, sound-effects and music for were recorded
digitally, in stereo, for your ears pleasure as well.

Jon Golden is a multimedia artist and sound designer who has produced
visual programs and soundtracks for the theaters, museums, and
educational foundations. In pursuit of better tools for stereo
imaging, Jon is founded 3D Concepts, devoted to developing and
marketing products for entertainment, medical and creative 3D
stereoscopic applications. Recent works include the restoration and
exhibition of historical images, and photographing current 3D images,
for Richard S. Gutman’s American Diner Then and Now , the first museum
exhibit devoted to the history of diners, and diner related history.
In his spare time, Jon loves travelling, collecting and restoring old
radios, microphones and tape recorders, and has written articles and
installed exhibits of his collection for others to see and enjoy.
