Years ago Kodak used to send self-adhesive labels with the "Do Not Mount"
instructions plainly marked "Attach to Next Magazine If You Do Not Want Film
Mounted" (Form KP 50380, with red lettering on white stock). I still have a
dwindling supply of these because they used to send several with each batch
of unmounted slides returned. I am still using them up, and I have never had
film sent back mounted when this label was used. Perhaps someone should bug
the present processors to use a similar well-recognized label. About the
only material I have returned unmounted is taken with my Macro Realist or
with my Hyponar.

And speaking of the Macro Realist, those who have one are well aware that
the foam in the customized cases deteriorates badly over the years, finally
becoming something like dust, rendering the case worthless without
modification. Does anyone know of a service which will supply replacement
foams (I assume that there are more durable ones available now) for which
they will cut the proper inserts for the various components? Let me know of
any such supplier so that I can once more use the proper case. Thanks. Yes,
I know. I could do it myself, but I'm one of those home handyman types who
is all thumbs. And if I used power tools it would probably be, "Look, Mom,
no thumbs".
