I've seen camera and electronic cases which can be bought which come
with the foam inside already sectioned into a grid pattern, so you just
tear out the blocks you need to remove to make a fit. The disadvantage
is that you don't get an exact form fitting mold to your equipment, and
I don't know if the remaining pieces tend to come loose over time (since
they are already pre-cut and loosely attached). However, depending on
how exacting a person is, it might be possible to adapt this sort of
thing to a preexisting case?
