P3D frozen time stereo

Yep, just as predicted:
The special effect using multiple still cameras to create moving-view, suspended motion (http://www.sciam.com/1196issue/1196techbus5.html) are now popping up on TV everywhere. I've seen it for the last 2 weeks on previews for the "Merlin" mini-series (sourceress throws water on hero) and last night, a Miller commercial (spurting beer can). All these effects seem to use a curved, rotating view, as opposed to a straight, paralax/panning motion. This gives a greater volumetric effect and, I guess, could still be usable for stereo frame captures. Splashing water seems to be a natural for this effect, though viewers of the Lost in Space Movie will recall the water dumping scene to be shot in standard time :-) and the stop-motion sequence to have leaping-in-the-air effects (which are not as convincing as stopped water).
Again, a really simple, camera-'n-film concept that is just being exploited (kinda like the response stereo slides can still get from first-time viewers). I wonder why they don't put a running movie camera at the ENDS of the camera rows. That way the motion would run-freeze-and then run again in one, smooth, more-convincing sequence.
