MPEG-2 compresses by looking at the last frame, comparing it to the present
frame, and projecting that to anticipate the next frame. Not good for high
definition broadcast 3D video. It's objective is to minimize irrelevant
information, but in the case of 3-D, it compresses and obscures the relevant
information.

Any thoughts out there on how to improve MPEG-2 for stereo?
