As an advocate of what Mel Siegel of Carnegie Mellon University calls KGS,
"kinder gentler stereo", I would be curious to know if the general decline
of interest in the stereographic parlor cards from around the turn of the
century, could be related to the development of faster emulsions and sharper
lenses.
Not being a collector I have to ask; are the oldest cards easier on your
eyes, easier to view for a sustained peroid of time, more "enjoyable" to
look at, than those produced closer to the end of their popularity?
