P3D Re: Dana asks....

Many questions from Dana today...

>Subject: P3D Lifelike viewer vs. red button realist vs. Franka with Realist
>What are the strengths and weaknesses of the above 3 viewers?

Lifeline: Compact, clever design, bad lenses, expensive
Realist RB: Elegant, good lenses, expensive, DrT's favorite (that's
            a plus! :-)
Franka: Dual fuction, relative inexpensive, questionable optical quality

>What's the best value?

#1 Realist RB
#2 Franka
#3 LifeLike (assuming you are paying full retail price for a new one)

>Subject: P3D Cheapest mail order source of Ektachrome or Fujichrome film

Try B&H in NY. Under $4 for a 36 exp roll. Have been a satisfied
customer for many years. They ship quickly and deliver what you ordered.

Using the rangefinder can get you into trouble. Think HYPERFOCAL!
I think hyperfocal and give priority to infinity, whatever that means...

Somewhere in-between. Brush up on those hyperfocal distances!
The question has nothing to do with retaining some kind of 3-D
effect. It is a matter of having everything in the picture SHARP.

>Can I take interesting 3-D landscape shots with my Realist?

SURE!!! I do it all the time!
