In grain, (K-11) Kodachrome images were similar to today's ISO 100
E-6 films (keep in mind, the old Kodachrome needed ten times as much
light!)
In sharpness, Kodachrome was slightly less sharp than modern 100s
(and thus les sharp than KM 25 or KR 64 today as well), but,
nevertheless, very sharp indeed, sharper than today's ISO 400 slide
films. If anything, Kodachrome's sharpness made the Realist as
successful as it was, rather than contributing to is eventual demise.
BTW, the old Kodachrome also had more contrast, and shifted "true
yellow" to "schoolbus yellow" (orange skew), making Kodachromes
sometimes look more vivid than reality.
